Lilbourne is a small but thriving community in which
the small size
brings great social cohesion. As one resident put it recently "we
have to get on with each other. We're too small to be falling
out!"
The village has a strong community feel to it, even without any
shop, pub or school. The community mini-bus is so successful that it
has even featured in a government White paper!
Modern transport has adversely affected the village with the M1 and
the A5 being particularly intrusive. Current plans to put a Railway
line through the village are being vigorously defended.
