Up

Once again, the two dioceses of Peterborough and Ely ran a tent at the show. The function of the tent was to provide a base for the show chaplains and to be a venue for hospitality for visitors to the show. It being the Millennium year we used the material of the Jesus 2000 exhibition which shows something of the origins of Christianity and how it has impacted on the world in the last 2000 years.

This was the calm interior of the Tent after the initial setting up.

And this was the tent in use!

We were fortunate that on the Friday and the Sunday of the Show we had with us Roly Bain whose performances on the slack rope of faith drew crowds and gently evangelised them, proving to be a fascination to young and old alike.

It would seem that  someone somewhere (who knows possibly God Himself) has a keen sense of humour. This was the   neighbouring tent!

It was in fact promoting a fizzy water based drink.

Probably the main work was done by the Show Chaplains, volunteers who were out and about in the  showground amongst the visitors, exhibitors and traders, being alongside them and trying to be Christ to them. With the difficulties which agriculture has been going through it was a very worthwhile and rewarding time.

 Visit the Showground's own site!
